Hello there!
Meet Katy, a layered necklace (named after Katy Perry, of course). Why? Because I feel like she really speaks to me through her music, and her videos are bonkers. I could listen to that woman all day. Well, when I am not creating things to name after her.

I’ve always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit.

Back to our Katy; I made her during one of my late night escapades. Yes, I am kind of a night owl. She is made of bronze (which I call gold by force). Don’t blame me. Like many of us, I was brought up to believe that it is either gold or silver. And also, I sucked at Chemistry back in high school.
This brings me to the fact that she is the first ever ‘gold-coated’ piece I’ve ever made. I am usually more inclined to the silver-coated ones. I actually used to hate the very sight of the former, but for some reason, now I am nothing short of obsessed.

Layered necklace
I love the idea behind layered necklaces, because I find them more personalized. With these you get to pick not one, but several pendants that express or mean something to you. You can also achieve a layered-necklace-look by piling up diverse types of necklaces all at once, which is also very chic.
Styling
#1
Styling a layered necklace is quite effortless. How I intend to take Katy out to play?
For one, it is almost a win-win with them. They go perfectly with deep V-necks/plunging necklines. This allows the necklace to pop on its own. Alternatively, for longer pieces, a crop top is quite enchanting. Wear the necklace to go below the top for a more defined look.

#2
Layered necklaces also go well with a round collar or even a turtle neck. Here, go for a monochromatic or dark color, to allow the piece to pop and stand out. I especially like the look with oversized sweaters and cardigans. For a minimalistic, yet chic vibe, let that be the only accessory you pair with your sweater.

Tip
The more the layers, the more casual and playful your outfit looks. To get an individual defining style, while making the most out of a layered necklace, go for different pendants that have different sizes, and make sure your layers are also different in length.Try adding a choker to your layered necklace as well.
